Rehoboth Beach Bandstand at Christmas Sand Dollar

Every Friday following Thanksgiving the city of Rehoboth lights the Christmas tree at the bandstand. Some years we are lucky enough to have a light dusting of the snow to give everyone the best holiday spirit.

Music has been occurring in the spot of the bandstand for over 50 years. It started with the vision of Mr. William Hayes with concerts 'on the green' which was in the location where the bandstand would eventually be constructed. He convinced the city to build a bandstand in this location and the concerts grew in number. The original bandstand succumbed and needed to be replaced and the current bandstand had its first concert July 4th, 2005. A lot of people were really sad to see it go, but this structure marks a new era that will last well into the future. Locals and tourist alike enjoy the many concerts there throughout the summer.

Sand Dollars measure between 3.5" and 4" in diameter.
